Mentor Youth Lacrosse Registration Is Open
It is that time of the year again to start thinking Mentor Youth Lacrosse. We are excited to offer registration NOW for two programs:
- 2013 Outdoor Spring Lacrosse League
- 2012 Indoor Winter Clinic - starts soon (11/4) register now

2013 Outdoor Spring Lacrosse League details
The spring league starts in February 2013 and ends in May 2013. This program is open to boys and girls, grades 3rd through 8th.
The games are scheduled either as single contests, 3 team round robins or large tournaments. The three team play dates are scheduled on weekends and will allow us to play to different teams on one date. There will be home and away play dates. Each team will attend a couple of the larger tournaments like the Bagattaway in Medina. We will end the season with our own Lake Shore Shoot Out.
The schedule has not been determined yet and will be posted as soon as possible.
2012 Indoor Winter Clinic details
The Winter indoor clinics are open to boys and girls and will be held at Lost Nation Sports Park on Sunday evenings for 8 sessions. The focus will be on individual and stick skills to help get players prepared for the upcoming season. They will be organized and run by Mentor High School Varsity coaching staffs (Boys and Girls), in conjunction with the youth program coaches. This is an optimal facility with great amenities and ample room to work the skills players will need throughout the season. It provides an excellent opportunity to get players back into lacrosse, working their skills and learning some new ones.
The 2012 dates are 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 12/2, 12/9, 12/16. The 2013 dates are 1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27.
The Boys Winter Clinic will be from 7pm to 8pm and the Girls Winter Clinic will be from 8pm to 9pm.

Mentor Youth Lacrosse will host an open house for boys and girls in
grades 3 thru 8 so they can see what Lacrosse is all about. Come see why Lacrosse is the most exciting and fastest growing sport in the country. Mark Your Calendar!

Better in Mentor Days Festival
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS
Mentor Youth Lacrosse is looking for volunteers to help out with It’s Better in Mentor Days Festival being held on September 21st, 22nd and 23rd. We are looking for the following...
- Parents and children to work the Mentor Youth Lacrosse booth in 2 hour shifts ( 1-2 parents and a couple of kids per shift)
- Friday, 9/21, 6-9PM
- Saturday, 9/22, 12-9PM
- Sunday, 9/23, 12-7PM
- Lacrosse players to walk in the Better in Mentor Day parade.
- Meet at Shore Middle School by 9AM on Saturday, 9/22.
- Parade starts at 10AM.
- Shuttle from high school starts running to Shore at 7:30AM.
- Wear practice pinnies from last season and bring your lacrosse sticks.

Mentor Boys Youth Lacrosse Camp REMINDER
The Mentor Boys Youth Lacrosse camp, June 25th thru 29th is for Mentor Boy Youth Lacrosse players only, entering 5th thru 8th grade this fall. This camp is being run by the Mentor High School Lacrosse coaching staff. Deadline for registation is June 16th.

Mentor Youth Lacrosse Team Picnic
UPDATE
To all of our Mentor Youth Lacrosse players and their families:
On June 10, 1 p.m. - 4p.m. @ the Mentor High School pavilion, the club will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, paper products and condiments. Additional items have been assigned as follows:
If your last name begins with:
A-C: Salad (pasta, potato, baked beans, etc)
D-H: Vegetables (veggie trays, veggie salads, etc.)
I-M: Fruit (sliced fruit, fruit salads, fruit kabobs, etc)
N-R: Chips (chips, pretzels, dip, etc)
S-Z: Desert
Each family will be responsible for bringing their own beverages - please be sure all coolers are labeled with your name. Please bring chairs for your family as table seating will be limited. The weather forecast is sunny, 86 degrees and no rain - bring sunscreen. If you have pop-up canopies, you may want to bring them to provide some shade.
Also, all players should bring both "cleaned" red and white game uniforms (shorts and jerseys). Players will be allowed to keep the practice jerseys. If you are unable to attend the picnic, please give to a family going to the picnic, contact your coach or drop off at the Riley's residence ( 7319 Hart St. in Mentor)
Also, we have extra shirts from the Lake Shore Shootout for sale at a discounted price of $10 (M, L, XL).

Lake Shore Shootout
The Lake Shore Shootout is this Saturday, May 26, 2012 @ Mentor High School. The first set of games start at 9AM. There are 12 total teams participating in the shootout, which includes the 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade levels. Good luck to all of the teams. Parking is located at the high school with overflow parking at the Mentor Civic Center. Concessions and shootout t-shirts will be available.

Team Pictures are TODAY, April 23nd
Team pictures will be Monday, April 23, 2012 at Memorial Middle School.
However, the pictures will be taken inside the auxiliary gym because of the weather.
- You need to park in the front or side parking lots at Memorial
- Enter through the main gym doors in the front of Memorial and TURN RIGHT towards the auxiliary gym
- The Memorial track team will be having in-door practice in the main gym, PLEASE be mindful and respectful of their practice time.
- Extra order forms will be at the event if you do not have one. Also, I have attached an electronic version of the order form as well.
- All teams will wear WHITE uniforms.
- Boys 3/4 and 5/6 teams will start at 5:30
- ALL Girls teams will report at 6:20.
- Boys 7/8 teams will report at 6:30.
- Forms will be distributed at the event and be ready to make payment that night as well.

Mentor Lacrosse Fun Night reminder
Just a reminder that the Mentor Lacrosse Fun Night is fast approaching. This event is on Saturday, April 14th starting at 6:30 PM @ Mentor Beach Park Pavilion. This event is a combined fundraiser for the youth and high school boys and girls programs and tickets are available to all Mentor Youth and High School families and friends. This will be an adult night featuring an Italian Style Dinner, Chinese Auction, 50/50, Side Boards, and loads of fun. The cost per ticket is $25, which includes $10 in chinese auction tickets. The deadline for purchasing tickets is this Saturday, April 7. If you are interested in attending please, fill out the Fun Night form and turn in at your next practice OR you can contact Christine Riley at car2boys@att.net or Ruth Morr at ram_mom1@yahoo.com .
Also, we are in need of donations, items and/or baskets for the Chinese auction. If you would like to help out please contact Christine and Ruth as mentioned above.

A few reminders .........
Just a reminder, for those teams practicing at Memorial Middle School, please be aware that we cannot take the field until 6:00 P.M. Please be mindful to not interfere with other activities that may be going on before us at the middle school, like track practice. Especially, stay away from the discus area. We do not want athletes or parents injured. We want to keep a good working relationship with the schools and we need to respect the track teams right to practice.

Practices will be south of the football field area, enter at the football field entrance.
We are making good progress working with the Mentor school district to obtain additional practice fields. We expect to make an announcement mid-week, once we have confirmation. Thank you for your patience on this matter.

Outdoor Spring League starts Feb. 12th, 2012
To All Outdoor Spring League Athletes -
Mentor Youth Lacrosse practice will begin on February 12th at Lost Nation Sports Park which is located at 38630 Jet Center Drive, Willoughby,Ohio 44094.

Below are the times and age group breakdowns for the first 3 practices, which will be held on February 12th, February 19th & February 26th.

Practice is inside the facility and all athletes should bring proper equipment.
Since, we cancelled the February 5th practice, we are working with Lost Nation to re-schedule that date. We are also finalizing the outdoor practice schedule, which we will start in March and will be held at Memorial Middle School and Mentor High School.

The boys teams have a full schedule this season with an average of 25 games on the calendar. The games are scheduled either as single contests, 3 team round robins or large tournaments. The three team play dates are scheduled on weekends and will allow us to play to different teams on one date. There will be home and away play dates. Each team will attend a couple of the larger tournaments like the Bagattaway in Medina. We will end the season with our own Lake Shore Shoot Out on May 26. Schedules for the boys will be posted soon.
The girls schedule is not finished because the process begins later but they will have a similar structured schedule.
